“Empowering is educating, education is empowerment.” This sentiment is at the foundation of my company and the way we do business. Early on in the promotions industry, I realized that my business objective was to educate and that promotional products were merely the vehicle to accomplishing this.
Educate stems from the Latin root “Educare,” which means to bring out what lies within. Educating is helping your staff, clients, and colleagues realize their true potential. It is for this reason that I love educating and mentoring. By asking powerful and thought-provoking questions I empower people to realize their own depth or the depth of their brand.
Empowering Your Clients
Without education, our clients are led to believe that our main function is to slap logos on swag. We all know that promotional campaigns have much more depth than that, so we must spend time educating them about the true potential. By asking pointed questions and guiding our clients to solutions, rather than options, we empower our clients to make impactful decisions.
Empowering Brands
The most successful brands are the ones that have realized their true essence and integrated it into every aspect of their business. These successful brands have been guided by a skillful educator that revealed what was at the core. You are the educator for your clients brands. Again, by asking pointed questions, we reveal the essence of the brand, provide solutions, and ultimately empower the brand. In turn for our skillful hand we educate our clients on the essence of our brand which in turn empowers us.
Empowering Customers
The most successful promotional campaigns are ones that are built on educating. By coaching our clients to providing opportunities to engage, educate and converse with their customers, we in effect empower their customers. An empowered customer is an empowered citizen. They have been educated to make their own decision about the brand and now they can’t wait to tell all of their friends.
When you start with education, it is a win-win-win-win situation for you, your clients, their customers, and their brands. Just remember—empowering is educating, education is empowerment.
